Key locations:

TrouwAmsterdam is a late night restaurant, club and art space situated in the former newspaper printing warehouse of Dutch national newspapers Trouw, Parool, NRC and Volkskrant. Trouw is a temporary project, conceived in a time of worldwide crisis and tries to fuse music, food, and contemporary art and culture together in an unconventional way.

To get there by public transport

Train:
If you are coming from Schiphol airport, it’s best to buy a train ticket to Amstelstation at Schiphol and then change trains on Amsterdam Central Station. You will first need to get to Amsterdam Central Station to take another train to Amstelstation. Last train stops at 1.01. am.

Trouw is 10 minutes away from the Amstelstation. Walk from the station to the Prins Berhardplein (roundabout) and take the third road to your right. This is the Wibautstraat. You will find Trouw futher down the Wibautstraat on your right hand side.

Tram:
Tram 3 stops on the corner of Wibautstraat/Ruyschstraat. Walk south into the Wibautstraat. On your left hand you’ll find Trouw.

Subway:
Metro 51, 53 and 54 stop in front of Trouw at the stop Wibautstraat. The last one stops at 0.39 am.

MediaLAB Amsterdam

MediaLAB Amsterdam is a new creative studio in the heart of the Amstelcampus. The space brings together thinkers and doers from the creative industries and education to conduct applied research on innovative interactive media applications. The research projects focus on urban screens, locative media, data visualization, interactive TV, gaming, the future of publishing and e-learning.

To get there by public transport

Train:

From here, it is a 20 minute walk to MediaLAB Amsterdam. Walk from the station to the Prins Berhardplein (roundabout) and take the third road to your right. This is the Wibautstraat. Continue until you reach Eerste Boerhaavestraat. The Hogeschool van Amsterdam is the large building at 2-4 Wibaustraat. You will find the MediaLAB entrance behind this building.

You may also take the metro (lines 51, 53 and 54) from the Amstelstation to ‘Weesperplein’. From here, follow Sarphatistraat to Rhijnspoorplein (two lanes of traffic will turn into one). Turn right on Rhijnspoorplein and cross the canal/Mauritskaude (a major road). This will turn into Wibaustraat. The Hogeschool is the first building to your right after the canal, and the MediaLAB is just behind this. Enter up the stairs and through the courtyard.

Tram 3 stops on the corner of Wibautstraat/Ruyschstraat. Walk north one block on the Wibautstraat, to Wibaustraat & Eerste Boerhaavestraat. Turn left and you will find the MediaLAB behing the large building (the Hogeschool van Amsterdam). Enter up the stairs and through the courtyard.

Party (Saturday Night):

Op de Valreep (“In the Nick of Time”) is an Amsterdam squat; the building, a former animal shelter, was reclaimed as a creative and cultural space in 2011. Op de Valreep can be a bit difficult to find, so we recommend printing a map and taking it with you.
