Winter Camp preparations #1

At the INC, everyone is busy working on the upcoming Winter Camp event. This event is dedicated to supporting networks that need to gather in real life, to work together, conspire, discuss and make the necessary steps forward. When a network settles down, and is suddenly not so new anymore, it can be quite a challenge to maintain the level of initial activity. The Institute of Network Cultures invited twelve networks to join Winter Camp, an event that merges a workspace for networks, an exploration of how networks work, and a meet-up for creative collaborators all over the world. We are looking forward to meeting all the participating networks on March 3, 2009. Non-participants can benefit from the documentation, for we have a meta group of bloggers, video interviewers and researchers keeping you posted. The Winter Camp Team is now concentrating on getting all participants from all over the world safely to Amsterdam and provide them with accommodation and entertainment. We’re very excited about organizing this unconference and are anxious about the outcome of it all. The participating networks share this enthusiasm, if we look at the ways they’re already getting prepped and ready to go for a getting-things-done event like this. You can have a look at the points on the agenda per network at http://networkcultures.org/wpmu/wintercamp/participating-networks/
where you’ll find the agenda and participating members under ‘More Info’. Some of the networks are also already announcing it on their own blog, such as Blender, Edufactory and Upgrade!. Or like Genderchangers, who’ve set up a project page forWC09. That was the update so far and we’ll keep you posted about the
forthcoming of Winter Camp, because even if you’re not participating in a network. In the evening, you are more than welcome to have a drink with us or join us at the party in the end.

See you at Winter Camp! Stay well, stay warm.
