Join us for an afternoon with talks, performances, bites and drinks.
The Art & Spatial Praxis research group at Rietveld/Sandberg, coordinated by Patricia de Vries, is delighted to invite you to the launch of the publication of Plot(ting) on April 17th from 14:30 to 19:00 at the Rietveld Academie, Fedlev Building, Room FL101.
Rooted in the Art & Spatial Praxis research group, Plot(ting) emerges as a platform showcasing the intersection of art, research, and spatial relationships. The platform is inspired by the groundbreaking theories of Jamaican critic Sylvia Wynter on space and narrative.
Plot(ting) investigates ‘plotting’ as a model for artistic practice. The publication features diverse contributions, including dance and lecture performances, audio landscapes, video art, photography, and textual analysis. These works collectively offer innovative perspectives on spatial relationships and artistic intervention.
14:30 – 17:00 performances and talks by: meLê yamomo, S*an D. Henry Smith, Francisca Khamis Giacoman, Derica Shields, Patricia de Vries, Liza Prins and Maisa Imamović.
17-19: Join us for a communal dinner by Lina Bravo Mora and Mayıs Rukel of Radical Roots in the Sandberg kitchen. Together we will hold space to remember food as belonging, tenderness and ancestral care.
This event is developed in partnership with The Institute of Network Cultures (INC) and generously supported by the Centre of Expertise for Creative Innovation (CoECI).
