The Institute of Network Cultures is looking for
interns with research and development skills
Internship period: February 1st until July 1st, 2025 (4-5 months, 3/4 days a week). The starting and closing dates can be a bit flexible. The overall period will be at least four and maximum six months with a possibility to extend the stay. The max. capacity we have is three positions.
You will be a part of a small young research team within a large Dutch polytech (www.hva.nl).
Tasks within the team may include:
- produce INC publications (Network Notion, Theory on Demand, Longform, blog postings, podcasts, videos)
- developing your own research, publications and/or research proposal
- visit conferences, exhibitions, debates and report about them
- participation in general office operations such as sending out publications
- collecting and reviewing interesting and relevant literature through reviews and interviews
- being part of the crew at INC events, for instance our stream art studio VOID
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, inquisitive (former) student with knowledge of and a demonstrated interest in internet culture, net-critique and/or digital publishing. As the INC has an international scope, active English skills are required, in speaking and writing. In addition, you have strong writing and communication skills and an interest in web applications and digital publishing software. You balance a desire to learn, take initiative and suggest better practices and take constructive feedback. A background in (graphic or interaction) design, art (history), cultural studies, or media studies is an advantage. In most cases the internship will be conducted after finishing an BA, MA or PhD.
Monthly compensation: € 500.
