Title: Hardware Hacking on the Cheap

Abstract:
Sometimes the best projects come from the least costly solutions. From scavenging for old parts, online auctions of used gear, to just plain old trashy gadgets: making stuff doesn’t require a labful of expensive instruments and parts. Some of the projects that will be highlighted include: embedding controls for wearables, multichannel audio, realtime controllers, and more.

Biography:
Fabienne “fbz” Serriere is a futurist at heart, but one who believes that the future should be present during the present. She splits her time between hardware hacking, future fabric prototyping, photography, obsessing about prime numbers, and adding to her vintage and modern gadget collections. Her personal site is: http://fabienne.us/

The intention is that the AMS Girl Geek Dinner will become a regular event. (Perhaps once every 2-3 months.) More information and registration can be found at the website: http://www.girlgeekdinner.nl/ This event is organized by Melanie Rieback and Donna Metzlar.
